Tecap for Integration Partners
System integrators understand test hardware, customer requirements, and the specific characteristics of their projects. Developing and maintaining a complete test software platform over the long term, however, is a very different task.
Tecap can provide this software foundation.
This means an integration partner does not have to develop and maintain the fundamental functions of an automated test system for every project. At the same time, responsibility for the project-specific implementation remains with the partner.
MTQ develops and maintains Tecap as a product. The integration partner develops the specific customer solution using the interfaces provided by the platform.
Clearly Separate the Product Platform from Project Business
Tecap Handles the Common Tasks
Many functions recur in almost every test system:
- create and execute test programs
- manage measurement instruments
- represent product variants
- manage users and roles
- record results
- analyze test data
- control production processes
- version and further develop projects
- manage different system configurations
These tasks are part of Tecap and do not need to be developed again within each project.
The Partner Retains Control of the Project
The integrator's individual expertise remains where it belongs: within the specific customer project.
This includes, for example:
- selection and integration of test hardware
- adapters and contacting
- customer-specific instruments
- system handling
- PLC communication
- MES and enterprise interfaces
- specific production processes
- project-specific extensions
These functions can be implemented through Tecap's defined interfaces and plugins.
The partner therefore does not need to involve MTQ in every customer-specific modification.
No Black Box Within Your Own Project
Defined Extension Points Instead of Modifying the Platform
A common problem with individually developed test software is that platform functions and project-specific code gradually become intertwined.
A change to handling, a customer interface, or an instrument can then quickly lead deep into a complex software structure.
Tecap follows a different approach.
Project-specific functions are implemented where they belong from a functional perspective. Clearly defined interfaces are available for system handling, instrument integration, and external systems.
This makes it clear:
- which function is part of Tecap
- which function belongs to the customer project
- which plugin is responsible for a specific task
- where a future modification needs to be made
Independent Development Remains Possible
Integration partners can develop project-specific plugins and extensions themselves.
This combines a maintained product platform with the partner's own development and integration expertise.
MTQ remains the contact for Tecap itself, while the integrator can independently develop, maintain, and continue its customer-specific components.
Less Core Development, More Project Work
Stop Developing the Same Functions Repeatedly
Custom test system software often grows one project at a time.
One customer needs user management, the next a result database, another variant management or instrument configuration. Over time, individual project requirements gradually turn into a software platform that was never originally planned as one.
Development, testing, and maintenance effort then increase significantly.
With Tecap, this platform is already available. Development effort can therefore focus on the functions that actually differentiate an integrator in the customer project.
A Common Foundation for Different Projects
The same Tecap platform can be used for very different customer projects.
Hardware, adapters, test programs, and processes may differ, while the fundamental operating and software concepts remain consistent.
This creates a reusable foundation for future projects and reduces the amount of project-specific software.
Collaboration Without Unnecessary Dependency
A partner model only works when responsibilities are clearly defined.
MTQ is responsible for Tecap as a product and continues to develop the platform. The integration partner is responsible for its customer project and can implement the necessary customer-specific extensions independently.
This avoids a situation in which MTQ has to be involved in every change to the test system.
- Tecap as a ready-made and maintained software platform.
- Independent project implementation by the integration partner.
- Defined interfaces for customer-specific extensions.
- Clear separation of product code and project code.
- A common technical foundation for recurring project business.
